C/2008 T2 Cardinal
2009 September 09.39 UT; m1= 12.4; Dia= 0.5’; DC= 3; 25cm L, f:5 (x83)
No tail, coma small and faint.
Comp Star= GSC-8238-0041; Method= S; Cat= HS

2009 September 11.41 UT; m1= 13.1; Dia= 25’’; DC= 6; 25cm L, f:5 (x139)
No tail, faint.
Comp Star= GSC-8239-1434; Method= S; Cat= HS


88P/ Howell
2009 September 09.40 UT; m1= 9.1; Dia= 6.5’; DC= 5; 25cm L, f:5 (x39)
Coma elongated to the North. No tail, slightly affected by zodiacal light.

Coma elongated to the West, central condensation more diffuse, no tail.

Zodiacal light

Hi Chris,

Thanks for posting these observations as it keeps us all up to date on what these comets are doing. 88P Howell seems to be brightening nicely.

I sure wish my observing was hindered by the zodiacal light more often!
