Here are a few shots from my favourite bridge in Brisbane.

According to Wikapedia "Kurilpa Bridge is the world’s largest hybrid tensegrity bridge.[5] Only the horizontal spars conform to tensegrity principles. The Kurilpa Bridge is a multiple-mast, cable-stay structure based on principles of tensegrity producing a synergy between balanced tension and compression components to create a light structure which is incredibly strong.[5]

The bridge is 470 metres (1,540 ft) long with a main span of 128 metres (420 ft) and features two large viewing and relaxation platforms, two rest areas, and a continuous all-weather canopy for the entire length of the bridge.[6][7]A canopy is supported by a secondary tensegrity structure.[5] It is estimated that 560 tonnes (620 short tons) of structural steel including 6.8 kilometres (4.2 mi) of helical strand cable are incorporated into the bridge.[8]"

Some very nice pictures here so far.
These ones are from a while back when I went scoping for a good location for a moon rise.
Cheers,
Tim.

Powerlines, Planes and Possums......

And you proabably thought there's no way I'd get a plane in a cable shot didn't you .
Some months ago I was doing a long exposure facing south when I heard a noise above my head, looked up to be greeted by a possum and within seconds a plane's arrival into Brisbane added more "cables" to those powerlines . There's a little dirt smudge on the frame which appeared after the Possum encounter .

This has turned out to be a difficult challenge for me, I'm working on some creative cables, it's taken a bit of time and work, no idea how it'll turn out but it's been fun. If I fail, I'll probably have to end up throwing the Possum pic in .

Tim, that's a very creative cable shot you entered , you didn't miss any detail did you .

Strong Cables,,,
This was from helping with some photog & timelapses for a demolishing company, the crane is one of the biggest mobile cranes on wheels, with a lifting capacity of 50 tonne, the excavator is no match for it. two excavators with high powered Jack-hammers & a Bob-cat were lifted on top of 16 story building to tear it down one level at a time. the bobcats main job was to push the 'rubble' to the gutted elevator shaft and let it fall to the ground floor !
Hope worth a Squizz ,,,

I thought long and hard about this one before I put in my other entry. It is part of the fencing near the sculpture the I chose as my entry.
