Moon Panarama Book

Wow just wow. What a fantastic book. If you have not got this then you need to have it. I saw someone talking about here about 5-6 months back and went to investigate. I was sceptical at first that this site was legit but I can attest that it is legit and the book and photography are truly sensational and worth the money I spent on it. It's going to be our coffee table book for some time to come.

I backed the kickstarter and yes its pretty cool. Why were you skeptical? You could have made the panoramas yourself after sourcing nasa photos, Many mars and pluto panos/mosaics I made myself before they hit the public eyes from someone else doing it. nasa have always been good with public access to data and its well documented to work with and needs no skills to put together panos and mosaics.

My set of voyager records and the pioneer plaque I have coming on the other hand were beyond me to put together.

I've got a copy of the moonpans book, and can't fault it. Beautifully put together and the print quality looks good to me - although the Hassy 500 is definitely capable of much higher resolution than this book needs.
The Full Moon wavytone mentions seems to have been reprinted. I just ordered one from Amazon. Link here

I have a "compact edition" of the "Full Moon" book that Wavytone mentions. This was re-issued in 2002, after the original was printed as a limited edition in 1999. I think I picked it up for about $10 (a few years ago) at one of those mall-sales they have from time to time at the Marion shopping centre of out-of-print, or can't-get-rid-of books.

It is a great book, but mine is at a smaller scale than the one you have purchased. I am not sure one would be better than the other, they were published for different purposes. Certainly the "Full Moon" one has photos that are not available anywhere else: the author had access to NASA archive images that haven't otherwise seen the light of day. (I believe there are over 32,000 images in the archives of the Apollo missions.)

Perhaps we could compare books in the near future!

(PS: the printing in the "Full Moon" book reflects the fact that it was produced 15+ years ago. I suspect the Moon Panorama book would have much higher quality printing and colour.)

The recent panorama book is very good quality but not as good as it could have been, compared to proper photo books but still its above what any space book in your local bookstore has.

Thanks for reminding me boys, i have the original full moon book, man the pics in that are so gorgeous! Its Still easily available on ebay i see- go get one!
