Any Clubs in the Central QLD area?

Hi guys,

Been trying to find an astronomy club or group in my area but can't seem to find anything.

Does anyone know if are any clubs or groups in Rockhampton or Central Queensland?

Are there any members on the forums that are in my area?

Hi Aaron, we have a bit of a group in Mackay but the closest official club is in Townsville.

Our group is very casual and mainly keeps in touch though facebook, but we do manage to catch up in person a couple of times a year. A few of us also get involved in outreach nights at some of the local schools. We have a web page at http://tropicalstargazers.webs.com/ as a starting point and a facebook group page with the name tropicalstargazers.

I was considering starting a facebook group and try to find some people that way.

Looks like that may be the best bet at this stage.
