SkySafari Pro - iPad or Mac

Hi All,

Is SkySafari better on the iPad or the MacBook Pro? I have permission to buy it but need objective views on the best platform.

I hope to eventually connect up to my scope via iPad Macbook for viewing and Astrophotography.

Your views will be very welcome

Craig

I reckon on iPad - gives more flexibility to use it wherever you need it. It's a superb app, probably my favourite on the iPad, and it sees a LOT of use. I also use it when doing visual to control my mounts, but not for AP. For that, I use EQMOD on a PC.

It's best on an iPad - and I suggest using SkyFi to integrate it wirelessly with encoders on the mount so you can see where the scope is pointing. A MacBook is really awkward to use as an atlas or to see where the scope is pointing.

For imaging you'll
need the MacBook, though.

May I add another vote for the iPad!
Have SkySafari Pro on it and it's a very manageable form factor. Just about perfect.

I used the Plus on an ipod for a couple of years cause that's all I had and it was ok...a bit small when scope controls are on the screen. Ipad would be nicer!
