Is their much processing involved through Photoshop, registax or any other editing program using the Digital SLR's.

I am curious to know what the image is like straight from the camera.....

You will always need to post-process, no matter what camera you get.

I've had a Nikon D70 for about 12 months now and love it. But I haven't put it to use yet on the stars because I've been waiting to get a t-adaptor that will allow it to clear the fork base on the LX90. I've found one at scopestuff and it's ordered!

I downloaded Nikon Capture, thinking it would allow 'real-time' views from the camera, but it doesn't. Although it does lots of other good stuff. Is there any such software available? I'd like to be able 'see' what the camera sees live on the laptop, like the LPI and the DSI.
