7 Minutes with Orion

Hello and thanks for checking out my picture.

Just got my new rig setup and working yesterday but the clouds keep rolling in!

Running an ED80 with a ZWO ASI533MC Pro, first time using a cooled CMOS and a refractor, so far really happy with it.

Had about an hour tonight of clearish sky, just enough time to focus and get some snaps off.

Got a run of 15sec subs and 1 minute subs on M42. The 1 minute pictures look much better after DSS and some editing in GIMP.

Really happy with the photo only after 7 minutes all up of data in the suburbs of Brisbane city. I stretched the levels out a little more than I would like but it was still bringing out some nice details. Seem to have some hot pixels in there I need to fix up still.

Really cant wait to try some shots out at a dark site now... or even just a decent night

Less stretched and better quality version up on Astrobin - www.astrobin.com/04qgku

congrats on the new setup!
good to get some snaps going, with the new rig, keep at it, you've chosen a tough HDR target for first light!

Thank you
Still waiting for it to clear up here
I got hooked on galaxies a while back, looking forward to photographing them as soon as the weather permits.
