Lightbulb Make better use of your finder with this DIY tool

Hi all,

It does not matter if you are a beginner or experienced, sometimes finding particluar objects can prove difficult when just using charts. Knowing how for to move the scope to star hop can be frustrating.

Trying to follow the scaled charts via the finder is something that or eyes can struggle with.

I've made a link below (with the blessing from 1ponders) to a DIY tool which may prove very useful. It shows how to make a "finder circle" for your finder, or finders, to show the actual field of view shown by your finder & then use it on your scaled charts:

I've used it to great effect to track down faint fuzzies from my backyard in inner Sydney. Each time I've employed this tool, the fuzzies where found nicely centered in the eyepiece, ready for inspection.

Good luck,

Mental.
