Omega Centauri

Just a quicky last night, after some collimation tweaks, which I'm still not happy with but I'll have another go another night. Just wanted to grab a colour shot of something, so, with a bright gibbous Moon rising, I chose Omega

Not a long exposure but meah, I haven't imaged her for 6 years and she is magnificent. I chose to keep her bright and bold because she is! and besides, 2min exposures where near saturation in the core

No Darks or flats were used on this, the camera doesn't need darks (I just dither) and I'll take flats soon, this was just a test/image fix and I had to leave the observatory early, had to work the next day

Omega Centauri

That turned out very well. It seems you are pretty close with the collimation, just a few tweaks and hopefully its there.

Nice one Mike,
I amazed at the number of blue stars in there.
We sort of imagine globs as containing mostly old yellow stars.

cheers
Allan

Awesome job there Mike!!
It looks very natural, just like you are looking at it directly at the scope with an eyepiece.

Very very nice.
Cheers,
Tim

Collimation looking pretty close, some minor tilt in the top right and very small amount in the bottom left. I have found this can be particular difficult to eliminate. Since you had your perfect before I am sure it won't be long before you have it right again. Great resolution.

Not bad at all Mike. The very slight collimation errors didn't bother my ageing eyes.

Cheers

Grooouusse Omega, Mike , a Lil Galaxy in the top left quadrant as well, approx @ 9:30'ish a few stars in from the edge, there are few further out in other images, but that one seems the closest to the core, just sayin, and nice to squizz inside your images
