Aurora forecast: G1-2 geomagnetic storm

From Oct 6, 6pm UTC to Oct 7, 9am UTC, aurora is likely to appear.

Caused by sun stuff spewing from a coronal hole and streaming into earth's magnetic field. That same coronal hole caused a fine geomagnetic storm 25 days ago in the sun's last rotation cycle. And the hole grew bigger since then!

Here's a picture of September 9th. Click on "next rotation" to see an image of today. https://www.spaceweatherlive.com/en/.../coronal-holes Pretty, ain't it?

If all goes well, people in Tassie might be able to actually see white-ish curtains moving in the southern night sky. Photographically visible in full colour it should be in any case, and from a lot further north, too.
Nice event. Given that we are in solar minimum and auroras became scarce. Any aurora chasers getting giddy in Oz and NZ?
