The Seven Sisters Pleiades

Another image I took a while ago and processed recently.

AP RHA 305 and Proline 16803.

A lovely image Greg. You have some excellent data hiding on your hard drive!

Really nice Greg!
You’ve captured a lot of nebulosity there, a much greater separation from the central “cloud” from the background nebulosity.

Thanks Suavi. I reprocessed this one a few times before I was happy with it.I had a lot of luminance and that's where the detail was.

Thanks Colin. The luminance data was very good.

Greg.

For this who do not know, the Hebrew word in the Talmud for the Pleiades means "One Hundred Stars." -- Yes I am willing to accept more than 100.

Thanks John. Interesting. There does seem to be a lot more than 7 stars overall.

Greg.

You have the perfect FOV there to fit the main cluster in Greg, nice and Smokey, with subtle colour too

That looks great Greg.
Great job on the processing too without blowing out the stars yet still plenty of nebulosity (a tough combo to achieve on this object).

Cheers Mike. I have done this one a few time and I like this result the best.

It is a bit of a hard object to nail. I had a fair amount of exposure in luminance that brought out the detail.

Greg.

Nice misty image Greg. You’ve managed to get a nice transition between nebulosity and background—nothing too abrupt. Looks well processed.

Thanks Geoff. I was careful to balance that and it was something I worked on in the image.

Greg.

A fairly unique rendition Greg but I quite like the ethereal feel of it! Nice and deep too! Well done!

Thanks Marcus. The deep luminance really paid off on this image.

Greg.
