Help - Halo in Widefield Milyway shot 50mm

Hi all

hope this is the right place to post this.

I was out imaging with my Nikion D600 using a 50mm f1.4g lens, 20 x 10sec at F2.8 ISO 500, on tripod no tracking stacked with Sequator. Just discovered Sequator after previously giving up on this data (that was a mistake as this has loads of detail). Taken Sunday 4th November 830pm from my west facing balcony loads of LP.

Now I see this Halo could have been dew I suppose not sure.

Thanks for any help.

Looks a bit like over correcting flats.
Have you calibrated them?

Thx Colin but no flats or darks just lights. I thought artifact of Sequator but even in the RAW with curves on single frame I can see the halo come out.

Are you using a light pollution filter like a IDAS on the lens ? I get similar artefacts when using mine on wider lens ( think they recommend lens over 90mm)

no filters. could it be dew ?

I have used this lens before in a more open space on the ground and it's been fine. Here I am on a balcony. i also see similar artifacts on my 24-70mm shots at 24mm on that night.

Tamron 24-70 f2.8 at 24mm f4 ISO 79 16x15seconds stacked in Squator and then i just did some adjustments in DXO to bring out the rings.
Maybe some odd reflections from my balcony??

Was it cold? Looks like condensation to me, possibly on the sensor itself.

If this always happens, then I’d try mixing things up a bit, e.g. trying a different lens, adding a lens hood etc. to track down the cause.
