[Qld Astrofest 2019] NGC6744 and IC5070

First couple of images processed from Astrofest. Decided to forego colour this year and instead concentrate on luminance/Ha data.

NGC6744 galaxy in Pavo - kind of rushed the processing in this, might need to revisit as I'm not happy with the "glowy" look of the stars. But I'm happy with what I think is some galactic cirrus showing through. I heard about a recent supernova discovery while we were up there, but I didn't realise it was in the same constellation as this! Doh!

IC5070 Pelican Nebula in Cygnus - opportunistic shot of this northern target as it peeked over the hill, between trees and my tent. Just 5x10min subs. But really cool to image.

Great shot of the Pelican. I didn't realise that one was even above the tree line.

Well done Troy, the Pelican is really good for the altitude that it gets in this part of the world

Both top shots, mate

Pelican looks good as it was just skirting the tree line

Nice result Troy, cool surroundings with this perennial favourite galaxy, not usually revealed in most images of her, so well done I'm currently processing a region with heaps of this faint stuff in it, I love it. always looks so cool in images

Good to be able to capture the Pelican too, a good task when imaging from further North, came out well.

The pelican is especially fine. Superb.

Perhaps with the Pavo spiral, you've put much effort into bringing out faint background stuff, but at the expense of the main subject.

Great capture of the Pelican nebula Troy.

I love the dust and detail in your Pavo Galaxy photo.

Ross.

Thanks all. I'll definitely have a re-look at the 6744 processing.
