Nova Carina April 2018

Thought I'd get another shot of Nova Carina framed with the Eta Carina Nebula in the frame as well. Only just barely fits in the field of the 10" F4! The Nova is between tick marks.

GSO 10" F4 Newtonian, full spectrum Canon 1100D, 156 x 30 seconds, Baader Semi-Apo filter, HEQ5 Pro unguided.

Pleeze eggscuse edge distortion. This is a full uncropped frame and my edges are not that great.

Full frame at Astrobin. ---> https://astrob.in/341811/0/

Glad you marked the nova as if not have picked it myself. I’d have just guessed one of the stars in the center of the image.
Lovely colour rendition as well.

Thanks Mike. I think this is only my second or third Nova. Hard to get one so close to something interesting.

Looking at my image of Eta Carina posted on this forum I note that Nova Carina ASASSN-18fv has faded (?mag 9) but is still visible.
