Moon and Halo Final

I found this most interesting.

And don't understand what causes this (aside from the moon).

I was using high gain to get focus and snapped a few images just for fun.

The moon was totally overexposed, however the halo was revealed!

The processing required to remove the overexposed moon, and plonk in a correctly exposed moon over the halo.

So we get to see both!
