The Rose..more practise

Well whatya gonna do
I listen to my history or Stanford U lectures drink tea and reprocess photos...todays effort.
I am doing all these again because the first time I merely stacked the lot and coloured the result going by a photo on the net.
Anyways...

Looks very nice Alex - the different colours help give a 3D appearance.

Thanks Tony.
The data was pretty poor due to short exposure high gain and damp conditions.
I would like to get all my gear working like a clock, a good full data set on a good night with long exposures one day rather night and have my processing worked out as I think the little 80 mm could do wonders.
It has surprised me and impressed me so far..a great little scope and I can lift it.

Nicely processed Alex and lovely colours
Startools again ?
Yes when I can no longer use my 8” f5 due to age or health condition I’ll go down to my 6” f6 and beyond that sell both and buy an 80mm refractor
Hopefully I’ll get another 5 to 10 years out of the 8” f5 ?
I’m nearly 60

Thank you Martin.
3x drizzle DSS, Startools no colour adjust there, into Photoshop to colourise each mono and merged there plus tiny adjustments, a little perhaps un necessary play in Gimp where I reduce the size to post it here.

If not for my leg issue lifting etc would be no problem for me but I have learnt to work around the problem ..just lift a little at a time and be patient.
However what I would suggest is to work towards an observatory. The weight issue then disappears but more importantly you save so much time..polar remains ok..all the gear can be left in place as well.
I presented a thread here describing my "cube" which is a very simple setup and relatively cheap...certainly no where near the price of a dome and once open you don't have to worry about rotating anything.
My current project is a double cube which will house both the eight inch and the 80mm...and I got around the sheer impossibility of building that by planning and using things to assist my mussle power.
Things just take longer. I think the key is not to offer your inner self excuses that one is too old..the inner self somehow becomes what you tell it that it is...I each day look in the mirror and say..my hair is getting blacker and at 72 I do wonder if that sillyness has worked as my hair is still black.

Thanks again.
Alex
