Parting out a Vixen R200SS

Decision has been made to part out the Vixen R200SS f/4 scope. This is being sold strictly AS-IS - I will try to describe it as best as possible, but if the description varies, you have been alerted.

REVISION: if the entire scope is wanted, including the dual speed focuser add on etc, the price is $500. Without the dual speed, $350. Otherwise, it will be parted out as follows:

POSTAGE ADDITIONAL ON ALL PRICES SHOWN

1. Mirrors: primary and secondary (oversize secondary since it is an astrograph). The secondary has some slight mold etch spots (less than match head size each). The primary has some VERY small scratches from poor cleaning. The primary is poorly centre-spotted. Primary will come in the cell, secondary with its holder only (NO SPIDER VANES - already spoken for). Primary and secondary both have heater pads fitted but I am unsure if they are functional. Will include the Bob's Knobs screws.

$75 the set (these are heavy, so post may be say $40 or so)

2. OTA: aluminium seamless. Some small dents and dings, paint in good condition generally, but some patches of chips, and the black inside will need redoing. Will have NOTHING but the tube, not even the mirror screws.

$30 - due to the physical dimensions, could be again maybe $40 post (if Aus Post will take it) or Pack n Send.

3. Vixen rack and pinion focuser, with only ONE knob. Been adjusted recently by me and it works nicely now. Paint is fine. I am keeping the dual speed unit for myself, so only 1 knob on this (the metal knob at least). Will work on any similar sized 8" Newt, and is vastly superior to the SW crayford

$50

4. 232mm Vixen tube rings and Vixen "short" dovetail bar. I started refinishing these, so I patched the chips in the paint (the thick patch paint I used does NOT match the original, as I was going to refinish in Antique US White). I am not finalising the refinish so up to you. I did polish the ring clamps metal as it was VERY tarnished as received - looks a LOT better.

$50 (new ones run well over $100)

That's it - nothing else is being sold, and some parts already spoken for. I was going to restore this, but honestly no longer am interested as it is a very sore point due to the original sellers bullspit. (not Beren - the one who sold it to Beren)

This scope cost the original purchaser $1700...you can have most of it for peanuts.

Extra pictures if you REALLY need them - ask via PM please.

I am in need of a usable secondary for my 10 inch. So if that is going separately do let me know.

John,
Sure you don't want both? I really don't want to part them out as they do "match"

Hi Lewis,
So what's missing to make it a complete scope?
Is there a "package price"?
thanks,
Bo

Bo,

Missing would be the spider realistically (plus a focuser knob and the finder shoes)

I guess we could sell it complete for $500 POSTED

Hi Lewis / Bo,

if the unit isn't sold as a bundle, I would like to purchase the focuser.

But would rather Bo has it to make the scope.

Could you let me know please ?

Thanks,

Paul.

The spider that Bo gets - if he buys the complete scope - is thinned significantly from Vixen standard.

Up to Bo
