How true - my current home has tiles () and no open fireplace ().

If ever I have the opportunity to leave the city for country life, a tin roof and open fireplace are very high on the priority list!

I had my tile roof replaced with an iron roof a couple of years ago, and with all the insulation they put in it, it is sadly no more noisy than a tile roof.
