Robo Focus Unit

Moving along with clearing up my office, I am offering for sale a RoboFocus auto focus unit that I am no longer using. It was attached to the focuser on my Tak TSA120 for quite a while until I upgraded the focuser to a Feather Touch unit.

RoboFocus is a great, cost effective, way to implement auto focus for imaging or a fine control for focusing during visual observations. The attached images show the RoboFocus unit connected to the focuser on my TSA120 to provide an idea of how the focuser mounts to the existing focuser. The TSA120 focuser is not included in the sale.

The components included in the package are:
* 2 x aluminium mounting brackets
* Serial cable for connecting to computer
* RoboFocus control unit
* RoboFocus stepper motor
* Software on CD
* 9 pin 'D' cable for connecting to RoboFocus stepper motor

RoboFocus hardware mounts on to most focusers by removing the existing knob and securing the stepper motor.

NB: Important note - The connection to the computer is via a serial cable so you will need to have either a computer with an in built serial port or purchase a USB to serial convertor. USB to serial convertors can work but may be a bit fiddly in getting the drivers to work. I was using a desktop computer that had a serial port so did not have any problems getting the focuser up and running.

These units are currently listed on the RoboFocus web site for $489 USD. I am asking $350 (AUD) plus post and packaging.

Thanks for looking,
Rodney
