That’s a beautiful image from your 8” f5 newt and its unguided as well, fantastic !!
I pick up my Bintel GSO 8” f5 next week so your image gives me a great deal of confidence and excitement as I guide and dither at the moment with my 6” up to 5 minute subs with round stars ( obviously under average to good seeing conditions )
Cheers
Martin
Thanks Leon, socked in here, so looking for old stuff I might be able to improve.
Aw shucks Alex, before you know it we'll be forming a mutual admiration
society.
Thanks Martin, I was already old when I left film AP behind, and struggled with computers, and struggled even harder with the myriad software.
In light of that I stuck to unguided JPEGs, no separate darks, flats, or bias, or
dithering[although indifferent PA did that for me as the target moved slowly across the screen between subs] and stacking and very basic processing in DSS, no PS , Pixinsight, or other processing software. Because of this I have been stuck in the mud at the bottom of the beginners' pond for almost a
decade, but I have enjoyed newbies progressing around me, and hope that I have contributed in some small way to some of their success.

With the quality of images you produced without guiding , sophisticated processing etc. you should be proud of your efforts as obviously experience has made all the difference
I’m heading towards 60 and still a young bloke compared to my dad whose 92 and had to use my limited computing skills to weave my way through all this Astro technology ( it wasn’t easy for me but at least I had my 2 sons in their 30’s to bail me out of trouble many times over the past 18 months , if and when they were free )
Hats off to you keep posting your great images past and present
