Unattended imaging sessions

Just have to say I find it absolutely comical that people here are talking about weather detection devices to make sure their precious equipment doesn't get wet. I left my scope unattended tonight. Clear sky, not a cloud in sight.

Fruitbat crapped on my scope and mount.

Hope you weren't shooting towards the zenith!

Much damage?

Ok, that's unfortunate... but I admit I did laugh.

No damage, just a mess found about 20 min later. Also it reminded me of this What-If answer: http://what-if.xkcd.com/11/

I worry sometimes about uncovering everything too early in the afternoon if a determined birds makes a bombing run, but never occured to me to fear the fruitbats! We've got lots around here too.

Lots here too - massive colony living along the creek at the bottom of the hill...

I did like the What if answer!

Sorry Chris, but that's very funny.

I do leave my gear out doing long sessions of subs - but then again I don't have fruit bats.

Clear skies
