DSS surprise

I have never used separate darks[as opposed to enabling noise reduction],
and decided to do so, only to have DSS inform me that darks cannot be calibrated when using JPEGS[or words to that effect]. Is this a fact, or did
I do something wrong?

I don't think you can use jpeg darks because of the compression of a jpeg.

Do EVERYTHING as RAW in DSS.
