10th August: Saturn's Ring Shadow on Display

From Astronomy Australia 2014 (page 50):

On the 10th, "Saturn is at its eastern quadrature where the Sun-Earth-Saturn angle is 90 degrees. At this time, the planet has a most prominent ring shadow across its surface".

Has anyone observed this?
Is there much to see or is it difficult?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.

Wow, you've only looked thru it once since you got it? Boy, the weather gods haven't been very kind to you there in Tassie .
Hope all is clear for you Trev.

Hi Trevor and friends,

Well, it's either madness or some fairly disturbing psychopathology we should probably not discuss on a family forum :-)

I also suffer from the same illness. And it's not getting any better with age.

Regards,
Tony Barry

Don't forget about that deadly "aperture fever" that has been doing the rounds!
May everyone have clear skies for tonight, particularly Trev - so you can enjoy that Mak some more!!
Well, I'm off to be administered my madman meds !! (Stellarium)
