This unit has the
dual CCD sensors for imaging and autoguiding ( does not require a separate guide camera)
Mechanical shutter for dark frames
Regulated cooling
Big field of view on small and medium scopes
Anti blooming protection.
High resolution on smaller telescopes with 7.4 micron square pixels
Flexibility of binning 2x2 on larger scopes with good image size
Self-guiding with a built-in TC-237H CCD
The Model AO-7 Adaptive Optics system (included) has two components
This unit incorporates a high speed tip-tilt mirror system for atmospheric correction, and
new image enhancement software implementing the Lucy-Richardson algorithm.
Power supply and cables including 1.25 nose piece are included with padded case.
CCD Soft capture software can be supplied if requested
The original desiccant plug is included. also included are a set of Farpoint quick change desiccant quick change plugs.
This camera has the optional adaptive (AO) optics package which is designed to enable users of SBIG Dual CCD cameras1 to achieve the ultimate in resolution when imaging deep sky objects.
The AO unit consists of two components: a high speed tip-tilt mirror capable of correcting the telescope
pointing at rates up to 50 times a second, and a software package that implements the Lucy-
Richardson deconvolution technique for image sharpening.
Both items were developed by SBIG.
This package can produce a 2 times improvement in resolution over
normal self guided images, where corrections are applied only to the telescope drive.
This package truly advances the capability of the amateur astronomer, considering that most
professional observatories do not have comparable systems.
This camera works well with Sequence Generator Pro or Maxim DL
This camera is in great working order. Only reason for selling is that I am moving to mono LRGB and narrow band imaging.
