"Scopefocus" arduino rotator

Hello all
After having a go at making my own arduino rotator a couple of years ago I hit a roadblock with not being able to make it ASCOM compatible so I couldn't use it within SGP's automated framing.

So I built this one designed by Kevin Sipprell.

This one is ascom and works well with SGP (although I haven't had a weather opportunity to try properly yet).
Video of mine here

In the video the rotator was being controlled via SGP.

Very happy with it and a big thanks to Kevin Sipprell for his help.

Cheers
Jeremy

Great work Jeremy.

You got me motivated to make one myself but I need to get a manual rotator first. Which one did you use?

Hello Luka
The scope (Sharpstar 65Q) already had a manual 360 rotation feature. I am guessing that you would need a whole new focuser with manual rotation.
What scope are you wanting to do it on?

Thanks Jeremy,

I was thinking of my RC8 (and possibly the SW ED80 in the future), and also adding the auto-focusing to both.
Seeing your build I was hoping there was a cheap-ish device that allows manual rotation, but as you said, I may have to get a new focuser.

Luka,

Telescop Express has a range of 360° rotation adapters you may be able to use.
