what Price the Pundits and Pollsters

Thank heavens it's over - for a while at least. Winners and Losers abound but the biggest loser seems to me to be the pollsters and predictors. Not unlike the recent election in NSW, they not only got it wrong - they got it monumentally wrong.

I think we all lose with this election: oppositions are going to be much more guarded in the future about announcements and it's been shown that fear and negative tactics work much better than any message of aspiration.

I haven't looked at the Senate results, but I hope there's still a balance of power bloc to counter some of the inevitable bad policy to come through (btw, didn't directly vote for either major party, so I want this form of balance anyway).

Really?
What about:
  • How about all those poor *******s who now know Chemo is less important than franking credits?
  • The pensioners who will have to deal with astronomical dental bills?
  • Our children who will pay the consequences of another great big coal mine?
  • Our grandchildren who will live in a vastly impoverished world?
  • Future generations who are one step closer to environmental collapse?
  • The million plus species that face extinction?
All this little vomit session has proved is that the majority of Australians have become, wilfully ignorant, self-centred, vision-less goldfish and the children amongst us now will despise us in years to come.

What a complete nightmare and we collectively walked into it with our heads up our bums!
