can anyone advise me on what would be a ccd to suite a meade 14'' lx200. I need one that stars look like stars not blobs'

For the most part stars are just bright pinpoints of light when photographed. If your stars are just 'blobs' you may possibly have a focus problem. Can you post an example or two so we can better ascertain the issue ?

the photos are not worth keeping, have tried focus but it just dose not improve

hi there John its Pete purchased your old LX200 10" off you a few years ago could it be collimation that could be causing your problem ?
just had the old scope collimated at Bintel by Don worked a treat for me nice crisp stars bye the way what camera are you using

thanks for your replies every one, scope has been serviced about one month ago by don at bintel. camera is an atik 383l and I think a focal
reducer may be required after doing a bit of reading.
