Tarantula StarTools

The storms we've had over the last couple of days has timed its run perfectly with November's New Moon. Ok then, dug up some old data from back in Jan 20x40"ISO3600 shot in Melb north eastern rural outskirts and ran it through Startools to redo my previous attempt using PS.
I'm finding the functions in this program are simple and effective. Here is the result.

Chris,
Your right in saying that, it's easy to slide the scales a bit to draw out the detail. I guess I need to respect the data that I have and just appreciate it for what it is. I suppose for under 15min you can't draw too much out. I'll take that on board hopefully next time around. Thanks for your thoughts.

Its not too saturated, it just has an overall red colour cast. Remove that
and it will be a ripper.

Fair call Raymo,
It's difficult to determine sometimes, I generally align the RGB histogram in DSS and when I go through the steps processing, the colour is what it is. It can be hard to change it although the green seems always the colour I find needing to be reduced the most.
As a guide I try to emulate images that best represent the object. This I find challenging. This shot was taken with a full modded Canon 60d and is very sensitive to ha. I'll try toning down the red Raymo, thankyou for your suggestion, much appreciated.

Agree with everyone so far Anthony but the real point I think you're trying make is the difference Star Tools has made to your post processing. So much more detail you have managed to reveal compared to your previous attempt. Keep it up!

Cheers Mick,
Quite right, I've come to the realisation that processing has a lot to do with the final result with equal weight given to the method of collecting data. I'm happy that I chose to give Startools a go to see what it could do and yes I'm glad I did. Ultimately it's given renewed incentive to spend more time under the stars given that the results are showing up far better than before.

Baby steps in this fun and scientific pass time.
