Slow W10 updates

Is it just me or does W10 drag it's heels when attempting to update?
Seems to take lierally hours or days which is super annoying when trying to get things done.

In general for my purposes W10 is not bad. Certainly way better than Vista or that awful Windows 8. The updates to be honest are the only irritation.
They have clearly decided we are too dumb to be trusted so have made it nearly impossible for you to setup updates how you want to run them!!

I am finding the computer on with a completely blank screen. I had queried this with the local computer "guys" and have been told it is running an update. Problem is that the record is now 2 days with just a blank screen!!
If you turn off and on you get the green screen showing 87% or a similar number as being done but nothing ever happens to that either, hours later it show the same number.

Frustrating is the word. And naturally the SWMBO want to use the PC and it is my fault.

Aaaargh!

I still dont believe that the system isnt now just a complete spyware based OS that allows others ( big mother ) to log everything you do and make you feel happy to hand it over.

Andrew ( W7 or XP for me )

A couple of hours would be annoying but not worth getting het up over, but when it runs into days we think wtf!

You 'Doze lovers are a patient lot. Linux updates take about 5 min, I can keep working while they happen and the system doesn't require a reboot. Just sayin'.
