Open Cluster IC 2391 Vela (Caldwell 85)

Open Cluster IC 2391 Vela (Caldwell 85) - viewed Feb 11 with Tak 100D

This was visible to the naked eye, as a hazy patch above the 'False Cross'.

Panoptic 24mm (30x)- There were 6 bright stars all of a blue white colour. I counted 25 other stars that may have been brighter than than general background. It was large, a little sparse and very uncertain as to where the boundaries were.

Remarks: I was amazed to read that this cluster is only 14 Million years old. Knowing this is an extremely young cluster, added to my enjoyment of viewing this
