The Running Man

Here's an atempt of the running man. Tried the camera on prime focus on my RC8, There's some odd shaped stars on the right, yes I did use a Bahtinov mask, any ideas??

I think in the end it was 35 x 120 sec subs
darks
no flats or bias

Your focus is good. I think the conditions might not have been ideal and you have a little field curvature, nothing major. Nice pic.

What a beautiful soft image Karl. Well done. I've been thinking of doing he Running man solo also after seeing it in plenty of Orion images.

Re: odd shape stars on one side of the image - could be tilt where your camera attaches to the focuser or just in the focuser mechanism given that it's only one one side.

Love the image though mate. Well done

Guding was so so Martin, was still able to do 120 sec no worries. Have a newer camera coming for the guide scope, trying to do polar align in sharpcap has its issues with colour usb2 cam. I did get it to 3 sec off but could see in the guiding graphs that both RA and Dec would spike quite high at times, even off the chart.

Cheers Ryan, I'm looking for different objects as everyone is hitting M42. I've gotten a few more images that others don't seem to touch. I have a Moonlite focuser attached and is square to the secondary, my laser isn't the greatest but I know it's in line. I'm thinking of getting a Glatter laser but if anyone wants to lend me one with the concentric circle. I have thought the scope could be off due to being shipped, not sure.. I have checked my M42 when I had the field flattener and there isn't as many off stars.

Looks great.
It is a pity it is close to m42 as it deserves the imdividual attention you have given.
