Power Tank Sony Nex

Hey guys, i recently bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-PW20-FW50...-/111040338481

Its good to be able to power my camera from the mains at home, what i want to do is power the nex from my power tank directly with a cigarette adapter so i can use when away from home.

I have a phone car charger that i can connect the coupler into and connect into the power tank and it seems to power my camera okay from the short test run i did, but powering my camera direct from 12v when its rated at 7.2v seems like a bad idea.

Does the car charger lower the voltage?

I wouldn't give device more voltage than it needs. With amps your fine the device will only draw the current it needs but not so with voltage.

If you go to dick smiths they have a 12 cigarette lighter style plug that has about 5 voltage selectors on it all the way down to 3v. It's about $30 and comes with a whole bunch of adaptor sad well.
