[SOLD] Sbig stf8300 (pics, dark, added more info as requested)

Hi guys.

Selling my Astro rig as it just doesn’t get used anymore.

On offer is my 5 year old SBIG STF8300 M. It has not been used in 3 years and still functions to spec, and cools same as the day bought it.

It comes with the a 2” nose piece, pelican case and power adapter.

New this camera would set you back around, 4K. I think $1500 would be a fair price but I’ll accept $1300. I’ll pay for standard post in Oz. If you want insurance that would be extra.

For all those who have enquired, here is a down load link from my one drive account to a 5 min dark taken tonight. A short vid of the camera connected to the computer showing that the cooling still works to spec and some images of the physical condition of the camera. The condition is blemish free, not a scratch.

I am using DSLR for imaging and not that much familiar with Mono cameras. I am not sure if the camera still is available. I am also not sure if it is suitable for beginners like me. I appreciate if you would give me your number to call and discuss suitability. Regards Manoocher

Hi guys.
i am happy to include my old filter wheel, the Orion Nautilus filter wheel free of charge. I had issues withe filter wheel connecting to pc, it would never connect first go, always had disconnect it then reconnect to make it work. It was a known issue with the wheel.

I’ve pm’d you my number. But to answer you question.

I came from a DSLR as well, the difference is night and day. Due to this camera being cooled the noise vs a dslr is worlds apart. The sensor, because it’s Mono is more sensitive as well. It is way easier taking subs on a dedicated ccd than a dslr.
Get yourself an Ha filter and it will take your breath away.
