Close approach of Asteroid Florence 3122 with Earth
Better late than never: here is my video of the close approach of Asteroid Florence with Earth on 1 September 2017. I used a 200 mm f/3.8 lens, a QSI683wsg scientific camera and 40-second exposures through a Blue filter to record the images used to construct the time lapse sequence. The raw images were shot from suburban Sydney, hence the intense light pollution gradients. It was quite a lot of fun watching the asteroid wiz through the field of view live on the night of closest approach.

Thank you very much. I am glad that you enjoyed this short video. It was a fun thing to produce. I am sorry that the video is so scary. Please remember, no one can here you scream in space, but most people will here you scream on Earth.
