The Three Amigos

Another quick grab of these before they reach opposition, taken a few days ago before a morning run. The sky was very clear thanks to a full moon. I started with Jupiter, then moved to Saturn and finished with Mars. By the time I got to Saturn and Mars they had fallen quite low and were doing the Macarena so the focus went out a bit.

Equipment:
130 mm APO
NEQ6
ASI290 MM
2 x Barlow

Acquisition:
Jupiter = R 2500 G 2500 B 2500
Saturn = R 2200 G 1000 B 1000
Mars = R 8000 G 8000 B 8000

Software:
AutoStakkert, RegiStax, GIMP

Nice set, always handy to have some early images and be able to show how much larger Mars will get relative to Jupiter and Saturn.

Thanks Nathan. Yes and no to planning it. I knew that the skies were going to be clear in the morning and so that part was planned, but I didn't check on the GRS's positioning prior. I'm just doing quick grabs until it reaches opposition, so this is what I call 'record keeping'. It wasn't until I woke up and powered everything on that I saw the GRS's position so I quickly made a cuppa and by the time my start up routine finished it had rotated almost perfectly into position. All I had to do was wait just a few more mins and then fire away. I took three sets, but this is the only one I've had time to process. The frame counts for each one are the stacking counts e.g for Mars 24,000 frames as a composite or 8,000 per filter when separated.

Thanks guys. I got a little lucky with the timing of the GRS which is nice, as is being able to monitor the progression of Jupiter's approach over the next few weeks.
