Horsehead Nebula

Hi All

I would like to submit my image of the Horsehead Nebula that i have taken from our clubs dark site at Burrawang ( next to Robinson NSW )
Total of approx 3Hrs on target 35x300sec lights and darks /bias to match

Equipment:
HEQ5Pro
TS OPtics 71mm Quad
ZWO 1600MC
Optolong L-Enhance filter

Processed using APP. My processing using APP needs more work but it will take time.

Cheers

That's a nice image Ben. I'm not familiar with APP but there's probably a lot more nebulosity in your data - perhaps someone who uses the program can tell you how to stretch the data more.

Cheers mate
I find APP to be easy for processing but I’m just using the default settings
There’s always a learning curve for image processing which will take me time plus watching YouTube tutorials helps

Thanks again

Looks great to me. Very well defined detail. Perhaps there is more colour there but I don’t mind less stretch.

Looks really good. I reckon you can safely push the data a bit harder.

Nicely framed & some decent data Ben. As Tony & Marc have already mentioned, there's quite a bit more nebulosity & detail to be had with some careful reprocessing.
It looks like you've crunched the black & white points a bit so that will limit how much you can stretch your data.
Just my 2 bobs worth.
Cheers,
Tony

Tony & Jon

I agree with your observations
Funny how this hobby has steep learning curves but it’s definitely worth the effort
I honestly enjoy any time under the stars

Cheers all
