Starnet

Does anyone know how to run Starnet ++?

It seems to be some sort of DOS program that is not easy to understand.

I like the results I have seen from it so it would be worth learning.

Greg.

I can't help you Greg but I had a similar experience.....looked at it and moved when i didn't understand how to get it running. (I did try for a few hours though!)

A tutorial would be great if anyone knows how to get it going!

I believe it's also available as a PixInsight plugin that may be more intuitive if you're using PI

Thanks for the replies so far.
My desktop computer is not old, maybe 2 years old i7 64gig RAM etc.

If I try to run the batch file in Windows command prompt I get a line that says

this tensorflow/core etc Your CPU supports instructions that this Tensorflow binary was not compiled to use: AVX2

So does this mean my CPU is not supported to run Starnet++?

I found the Pixinsight windows module

Greg.

Do you need to download Python and install it for this to work? I see Python is a computer language that can work in Windows.

Thanks Troy.

I got that to work. I saw the Windows version. On the Source Forge site they don't list the Windows version only the Linux and Mac. The Windows version link is there but its buried down a click or two.

PI makes it nice and simple. I see it tends to be a bit noisy sometimes.

No worries. I have only played with it a few times, but I do seem to recall that before the PI plugin came out I had a similar issue to what you were describing above. Can't recall how I solved it. Sorry.

That's fine Troy. Using it in Pixinsight is all I need. Nice and simple. I haven't used DOS type commands for many years now.

Runs easily in PI. The previous way was to run it in terminal.
