Appreciated IIS members

I would like to take the time to tell all of the relatively small pool of more
experienced members that help newbies, and comp illiterates like me in so many ways, that their efforts are greatly appreciated. Without their help I'm sure that some newbies would have dropped by the wayside.

I am a bit disappointed that 83 people have viewed this post, and not
one has echoed my sentiments.

A big echo from me as well raymo, have mentioned it in my posts-thanks to all IIS members.
Who would have thought one month after christmas and a failed toy Aldi dob, I would have an 8 inch Dob real scope and be viewing the bands around Jupiter and looking for DSOs.
Would on my own have given up.

Hey Raymo, a great sentiment & one I agree with. I have learnt so much here and in turn been able to give some back too. 15yrs ago it was unheard of to get such help freely. Astronomy is so much more approachable for so many people here than it was in the past. So THANKS IIS members you

I feel bad now, I was one of the 83. I agree though, so many helpful people including you.

Don't feel bad, there were 82 others, and telling us puts you up
some notches in my estimation.

This forum is the friendliest I've ever been part of. In the last week in particular, I've had to call on the experience of these kind people you speak of Raymo, but I include you in that esteemed group. Thanks to you and everyone else for your help and encouragement. One day I hope I can return the favour in a small way.
Luke

Sorry Raymo, but though I agree with your sentiments, I am not one to post thumbs up or smileys in response to others remarks. Hence I have only a few hundred posts after 8 years on the forum, and not thousands.

To keep on topic though I see no reason not to name those who have been helpful to me - Coldknights (Cathy) and rrussell1962 (Richard) have both been of great help to me in the past. Many thanks

This is the first time I have read this post. I totally agree with all that has been said. People here are so willing to pass on their knowledge to the new comers ( I certainly am in that bracket)
'Tis a great forum..

Cheers Reverend.
