F1 - Top Gear

Back when Mark Webber got to the #2 position in the F1 Driver version of Top Gear's 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' challenge, I was pretty darn happy. Sure, he didn't get Lewis(just 0.2 behind) but he shamed Vettel.

But as of yesterday there is a new #1, Daniel Ricciardo smashed the record by 0.7 seconds....
Take that Lewis!!

Lewis set his record two years ago.
Daniel Ricciardo set his in a new car and by my reckoning should have improved on Lewis's time.
0.7 is just a fly swat.
Cheers

Not so - it's the same old Liana that they keep to make sure all of the F1 drivers are competing on a level playing field (apart from the vagaries of weather conditions, of course).

0.7 seconds is a HUGE improvement - and he did 3 laps at exactly the same timing. Go Dan!

It is actually an incredible achievement. Approaching 2 seconds faster then Vettle. Pretty damn impressive.

Also, if you listened to the banter between Richard and James after the interview -Richard said he did 1:42.2 for 3 laps.

It's still unfair, Ricciardo drives a Liana at home...

Cheers

Plus Daniel was faster than The Stig #2 and the late The Stig #1.

In November last year, Clarkson himself posted in a well publicised tweet -
