Piers

Hello all,

Does anyone know if there are any decent commercial piers beng made in Australia and has anyone bought one recently? There doesn't seem to be many prefabricated piers out there as most people design their own. I'm getting my skyshed POD soon and really need to get a pier worked out and hoping there is some jewels out there.

Cheers!

There is this one.

You are going to need an adapter collar on there to mate your mount to it as well.

Most people make their own as you have observed. My son made me two including adapter plates and a guesstimate on retail price would be $1000-$1200, including materials and labour. They are well over engineered as I may upgrade to a larger/higher quality mount in the future.

These do not look too bad.

I think the cat and the bloke will cost you extra!

I found it easier and cheaper taking your dimensions and design even a pic of a commercial one and getting a local steel fabricator to make it for you.

If you are a handy person make your own, it is rewarding and heaps cheaper.

Defiantly make your own to suit yourself, height, size and heavy duty.
I made my own for under $200 including paint. If your unable to do that your local steel manufacturer will gladly help you out.

Thanks for the advice folks. I will give pegasus a ring to see but I think I will just get one made from my own design.

Much appreciated!
