Mars, Phobos and Deimos

Just wanted to see if I could capture the Martian moons with a small scope.
Taken with my Celestron NexStar 6SE and ZWO 290MC camera.
Composite image processed in Photoshop CS5.

Excellent work, especially for a 6", those little guys are hard to extract from the glare of Mars.

Amazing Richard. I haven't managed to capture those moons yet and I did look for them. Maybe the seeing was too wobbly.

Richard, that is just a wonderful image. Reminded me a little of the Space Art of Chesney Bonnestell (see below) who provided the art work for the opening of the original War Of of The Worlds movie from 1953.
I just had a look at the opening of the movie and your image took me back to one of my all time faves, must watch again.

Love it when amateurs push the envelope as you have with your image and equipment, Bravo!

Thanks Peter.
One of my favourite movies. I have it on DVD. During the lockdown I listened to an audiobook of the original novel by HG Wells. Loved it.

Richard.

Fantastic results Richard, I'm outside just trying the same and already I have just noticed Phobos peeking out above one of the diffraction spikes from my spider.

Cheers

Dennis
