350D settings for night time astronomy.

Hi, Please could someone let me know if there is a proper setting for Astro photography, what i mean by that is, is there a Permanent setting that you put in the camera for night time Astronomy...Thanks...Lloydysun..:he lp:

Lloyd - there is no such thing really. Different conditions and targets demand different settings. Did you take a copy of base settings that I gave to Ned? If you're going to the public night at the domes tonight we can go though the basics if you like...

ICNR off
Daylight WB
Flash Off
AF off

the only time I adjust my ISO is when shooting the Moon

M-mode
RAW
ISO800
ICNR off
Daylight WB
Flash Off
AF off


Hmmmm, personally for me.

Bulb-Mode
Raw
ISO 400, no more
ICNR on
AWB
5D's don't have flashes, so nothing here
AF, is automatically off on Bulb
TC-80N3 Remote, for long exposures.

Sorry Leon with the Canon forget what I said about AF-off with the 350d M- is the bulb mode
