Lovejoy and Milky Way from Cape Schanck Dec 24th

Hi All,

Weather was relatively kind today and the fog at cape Schanck cleared when comet Lovejoy was rising.

What a Christmas present we have for all the bad weather endured in 2011.
Thank you Terry Lovejoy!

Merry Christmas!

Wow great shots Alex! I so want that 14-24 lens! That fast Sony lens looks good too. Did you do much post processing?

You really nailed that Alex.

You know that area and that served you well.

Best shots so far.

I like them all but the 14-24 D700 shots are particularly good and really sharp.

Greg.

Just Great

Thanks for the great photos - helps make up for not seeing it these last few mornings. It's been foggy in Bairnsdale.

Terry Lovejoy must be pleased the Christmas Comet has his name!

Absolutely beautiful, Alex. That second shot is my favourite. How's the resolution on them? I'm thinking that a large print would look spectacular.

Thanks! The second shot is stacked and would look good printed up to 1 metre long.
