Titan transit: Animation & contact sheet. 8/9th Feb 2009

Hello,

I managed to record 14 AVI’s between 23:19pm and 02:10am of the Titan transit and only 2 were worthy of processing, the others were soft; probably due to poor seeing rather than anything else, as the rig remained unattended and untouched during the session.

Anyhow, here is a contact sheet and animation of the good, the bad and the downright ugly!

Cheers

Dennis

Very nice animation Dennis,

Well done, will be interesting to see both Titan and it's shadow on the 24th.

Very nice Dennis...

I was really quite upset that I couldn't get out and have a go at it on those two very nice, clear nights brisbane had.. Having to start work at 5:30am each morning

Good job capturing the transit event.

Hello,

Thank you for your encouraging comments, they are much appreciated.

I was absolutely dead beat due to the previous all-nighter and for this session, morale was a little low as the previous session had been plagued by clouds and some technical issues due to it being my first time out for what seems like ages.

The mount would have required a meridian flip to continue much after 2:10am as Saturn had already transited the Meridian at 2:00am, so I was happy to pack up and crawl into bed.

I’m hoping to be more refreshed for the next event on 24th Feb! LOL!

Cheers

Dennis

Dennis, if you are not going to the meeting tomorrow night, would you mind if I download your gif and contact sheet to show for you?

Hi Tony

Sure – no problems. I just can’t seem to motivate myself to get to meetings these days. Please say hi to the guys and gals and hopefully I’ll manage to get to Hazledene one of these dark weekends that coincides with clear skies!

Cheers

Dennis
