A 68 year old four leaf clover

Hi guys.

My Mother and Father have passed some time ago,

I have been going through some stuff which goes back to the 40's an 50's whilst they plus me who was only 3 were still in Holland.

My mother collected and wrote down everything, hence boxes of stuff, which i am going through, it is a long and interesting task.

Anyway, has anyone here seen a four leaf clover, I came across this dried specimen jammed in between to pages of a book she used to write in. back in 1951

I have never seen one however here it is, well a photo of it.

How interesting Leon - to have all that memorabilia to sift thru. I'm guessing any written stuff would have been in your folks' native language. Do you speak Hollandish perchance, or are the messages a mystery to you?

My first wife was of Dutch decent as were her parents.
Actually the second was Dutch and Russian and same thing the parents were Dutch and Russian.

There once was many four leaf clovers but people kept picking them an so they became rare.

My eldest daughter found one in rural QLD once, as did I when I was about her age. I kept mine in a stamp album...it's probably still there, wherever the album is!

If you look You will find them ..thats the thing looking for them is part of the memory to which we all should hold on to .

Paul, when in Holland and the early years are in Australia are mainly in Dutch, then the writings slowly started in English once they got the hang of the language.
I can speak it but find it a bit challenging to read and write it, however my older siblings have no problem with it, so there are plenty to help out.
