Grus Triplet

Triple galaxies in Grus (a crane in Latin). NGC7582, NGC7590, NGC7599. There is another nearby but I can't fit it in (NGC7552). There are other smaller galaxies in the background. This is the full field size of the ASI183mm Pro and 8" F10 SCT. Only slightly cropped to chop off stacking overlaps.

LRGB image with Luminance = 232 minutes, Red = 100 minutes, Green = 96 minutes, Blue = 90 minutes all Bin2. Total 8.6 hours. This is my first image using luminance + RGB. Could do with more time at F10.

Bigger at Astrobin. ---> https://astrob.in/371878/0/

Nice one, Kevin. It does take a lot of time at those longer f-ratios, especially with tiny pixels.

A fine result Kevin. Very good colour, lots of detail in the bright cores, nothing burned out. Dozens of distant background galaxies.

Thanks Rick. Binning helps, especially since Bin1 would be 0.23 arc seconds per pixel, which is way beyond my seeing and tracking ability anyway. Maybe even Bin3 for that scope, but then I really start to lose pixel count. Maybe Bin3 for the colour channels... I dunno. Still experimenting.

Thanks M&T. Seems like a nice galaxy hunting setup. Just needs lots of time.

Hi Kevin,
What is a lovely set of Galaxies, and well photographed. I will have to put it on my hit list.

Cheers
Peter

Thanks Peter. If you can fit it in, get the 4th one NGC7552 also.
