Nexstar 4se finderscope bracket replacement

Message:
I own a nexstar 4se and want to unscrew the finderscope bracket from the tube to fit a different bracket. Can this be done or do the screws have nuts on the inside which might fall into the internals of the tube. Can anyone help please.

Hi Kev,

From memory the finder bracket just screws into the housing. The dovetail on the other hand has screws with nuts at the front end of the tube that can fall inside. To be 100% sure, undo the screws about 3 turns then push down on them. If they screw into the hosing as I remember, you won’t be able to push them down. If they are in fact a screw and nut, the screw will push down but the nut will still be on the screw so it won’t fall and damage anything. I hope this helps.

Cheers

Ryan
