Kelly's House

I took this shot of Ned Kelly's childhood home a couple of nights back as a waning gibbous moon rose behind me. Heritage Victoria claim it will be restored to a better state than it's in at the moment. We'll see. There are new housing subdivisions starting nearby, it would be sad to see it lost to the greedy developers. Despite it's heritage listing, I fear a generous offer for acquiring the property may be too attractive to refuse. Let's hope this doesn't happen.

Taken with a modded Canon 550d and Samyang 14mm lens, f 2.8. 30 seconds @ 800 iso.

Thanks James, the modded camera has probably added warmth to this shot but the moon was low on the horizon and would also have been shining through a lot of haze and dust, contributing to the colour cast. I also like what it's done to soften the tones.

I went to the auction when this house was sold a few years ago, $850000 was the selling price, this included the one acre property and house attached to Kelly's house

Nice one Nik, I bet it's worth more than that now.
