Old Observatory

Hi,

I have an old fibreglass Observatory which is available free to anybody who would like to pick it up. The sides, and circular rail have been in the open for a few years and are showing lots of signs of rust etc. The firbreglass dome itself seems to be ok.

If you would like these items for free, please message me. If nobody wants the dome (and sides + mounting ring), I will send these items to the tip in 2 weeks time.

I have had to move house from my old location and need to get these removed asap, but thought I'd offer them up for free before destroying them.

Perhaps somebody with skills in the mechanical/building area (which I don't have at all) may find them beneficial

Clear Skies,
Parry

Also interested. Does dome opening have the sliding door as well or is it gone?

Hi Shane,

I missed uploading the photo of the "door" .. It's uploaded now .. I think it's just a hinged thing rather than a sliding thing lol :-)

Observatory

The slit cover does slide on. It's a rolled steel frame with aluminium support and polycarbonate skin. The walls are colorbond on galvanised steel. The actual base is rectangular so you can have a table/cupboard tucked away under one end. The walls and ring support just bolt together.

Some earlier photos:

It served me well for 20 years.

Observatory

The dome and observatory itself are made in Victoria. The dome itself was made in 1961. The walls in 1992.
