Old house and shed with setting Milky Way

Here is another shot from one of my Nightscape workshops at Gresford. I wanted the Milky Way to have more impact in the image so it was shot with the Nikon D5 and a 35mm f1.4 Sigma Art lens. the camera was attached to a Skywatcher Star Adventurer and tracked at half speed. this allowed me to shoot for 30 seconds. Shot at 3200ISO and at f1.4. Processed from a single RAW file with a Dark frame subtraction to reduce amp noise.

The image shows the potential. But a single overly stretched image will only ever look unnatural.

If you had the camera mounted on a tracker then it would have been better to take a series and stack them. That way you build up the signal and can get a brightish image without the heavy stretch causing unnatural colours and detail.

Perhaps take a 2nd stack of the landscape and blend the 2 sets - sky and landscape.

Greg.

Nice shed but more noise than real stars.
